BODY, REVISED

The rules changed. Nobody sent the memo.

Privacy policy.

We collect the minimum we need to email you, and nothing beyond it. This page describes exactly what that means.

Last updated

The short version

You can read every article on this site without giving us anything. We only collect information when you deliberately hand it over by signing up, and even then we keep the set small on purpose.

We do not run analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party scripts. We do not operate accounts or logins. We never store your individual quiz answers.

What we collect when you sign up

If you submit your email — from the quiz, the homepage, an article sidebar, or the newsletter page — we store the following, and only the following:

  • Your email address. Required, so we can send you what you asked for.
  • Your first name, if you choose to give it. Always optional.
  • Your interest topics. If you completed the quiz, we store the result only: a primary topic, a secondary topic, and whether you told us you’re a beginner, familiar, or advanced reader. We use these to send you relevant work rather than everything we publish.
  • How you found us. The page you first landed on, the site that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you clicked (the standard utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term parameters). For referrers we keep only the site, never the full page address.
  • Where you signed up. Which kind of page you came from, and the article slug if you signed up after reading a specific story. This tells us which work is worth doing more of.
  • Your consent. That you ticked the box, and the moment you did, plus the date your record was created.

That list is the complete set. Anything not on it is not collected.

What we specifically do not collect

  • Your quiz answers. Individual selections stay in your browser and are never sent to us. Scoring runs on your own device; only the resulting topic labels are transmitted, and only if you sign up.
  • Health information. No conditions, symptoms, diagnoses, medications, dosages, lab results, or treatment history. We never ask, and there is nowhere to enter it.
  • Identifiers and tracking. No advertising pixels, no device fingerprinting, no cross-site or cross-domain identifiers, no analytics profile.

Where your information goes

Sign-up details are sent to our email and contact platform so we can deliver what you asked for and manage your subscription. That provider processes the data on our instructions and does not use it for its own purposes.

Your interest topics are stored there as simple labels — for example a Strength tag and a Beginner tag — so the emails you get match what you told us you wanted. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone else.

Using the site without signing up

The quiz

The quiz runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are held in the page’s memory, are never written to storage, never appear in the address bar, and are discarded when you close or reload the tab. If you never sign up, we receive nothing at all.

Session storage

While you browse, we keep two small items in your browser’s session storage: the page you arrived on with any campaign tags, and the last article you were reading. This is how a sign-up can be credited to the story that prompted it. Both are cleared when you close the tab, contain no health information and no identifier, and are only ever sent to us if you choose to sign up.

Server logs

Our hosting provider may log standard technical information — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — for security and reliability. We do not combine these logs with sign-up data or use them to build profiles.

Cookies

We set no advertising or analytics cookies. Session storage, described above, is not a cookie and is not shared with any other site. If this changes, we will ask for consent where required and update this page first.

Unsubscribing and deletion

Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, which stops marketing email immediately.

To have your record deleted entirely, email hello@bodyrevised.com from the address you signed up with, or tell us which address to remove. We will delete it from our contact platform and confirm when it is done. Because we hold so little, there is nothing else to erase.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Our legal basis for sending you marketing email is the consent you gave at sign-up, and withdrawing it is as simple as unsubscribing.

Email hello@bodyrevised.com and we will respond within the time your local law requires.

Retention

We keep your contact record for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we retain a minimal suppression record — your email address only — so we do not accidentally email you again. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes. Material changes — particularly any that introduce new collection — will be described here before they take effect.
